About âSpeedlighting Corporate Portraits â" Anywhere, Anytimeâ
This workshop will teach you how to get studio quality light from small flashes when shooting portraits in a variety of locations. Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of small-flash portraiture and then build upon these concepts with multi-light set-ups on location. Students will shoot in the PRW studio and at a variety of locations around Paso Robles. The workshop will also discuss the state of corporate photography today, how to build a portfolio of corporate work, and strategies for marketing to corporate image buyers.
Workshop Outline*
⢠Sunday â" (optional evening) quick rendezvous at PRW studio followed by no-host dinner at a nearby restaurant
⢠Monday - PRW studio: Workshop intros. Fundamentals of small-flash photography, Shoot: simple headshots
⢠Tuesday â" morning critique, afternoon location shoot
⢠Wednesday â" morning critique, afternoon location shoot
⢠Thursday â" morning critique, afternoon location shoot, PRW-hosted dinner
⢠Friday â" morning shoot: local business owners, Studio discussion: corporate photography today, workshop conclusion

Skill Level â" Novice+ to Advanced, Students must be familiar with the basics of their DSLR. Fundamentals of lighting and flash photography will be introduced and built upon.
Tuition â" $1,600 â" includes 5-day workshop, location and model fees, lunch daily and class dinner. Not included: transportation, lodging, breakfasts and dinners (other than PRW-hosted class dinner). An installment plan is available for tuition payments.

Portfolio Review â" A portfolio review is required for admission. Portfolio should include location and flash photography. For details click here.
Suggested Camera Gear â" DSLR and lenses, Speedlights, lightweight stands.
Suggested Computer Gear â" laptop with Lightroom, Aperture or Bridge/Photoshop. You will want to be able to get your best images collected for daily critiques.
Enrollment â" This workshop is limited to 15 students.

Team Structure â" Students will work in teams of 3 on location shoots â" with each student rotating through the position of photographer, grip and model / assistant. If desired, students will be grouped by their brand of equipment so that they may combine flashes for multi-flash work.
