About â€˜Speedlighting Corporate Portraits â€" Anywhere, Anytimeâ€™

This workshop will teach you how to get studio quality light from small flashes when shooting portraits in a variety of locations. Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of small-flash portraiture and then build upon these concepts with multi-light set-ups on location. Students will shoot in the PRW studio and at a variety of locations around Paso Robles. The workshop will also discuss the state of corporate photography today, how to build a portfolio of corporate work, and strategies for marketing to corporate image buyers.

â€¢ Monday - PRW studio: Workshop intros. Fundamentals of small-flash photography, Shoot: simple headshots
â€¢ Tuesday â€" morning critique, afternoon location shoot
â€¢ Wednesday â€" morning critique, afternoon location shoot
â€¢ Thursday â€" morning critique, afternoon location shoot, PRW-hosted dinner
â€¢ Friday â€" morning shoot: local business owners, Studio discussion: corporate photography today, workshop conclusion

Skill Level â€" Novice+ to Advanced, Students must be familiar with the basics of their DSLR. Fundamentals of lighting and flash photography will be introduced and built upon.

Tuition â€" $1,600 â€" includes 5-day workshop, location and model fees, lunch daily and class dinner. Not included: transportation, lodging, breakfasts and dinners (other than PRW-hosted class dinner). An installment plan is available for tuition payments.

Suggested Camera Gear â€" DSLR and lenses, Speedlights, lightweight stands.

Suggested Computer Gear â€" laptop with Lightroom, Aperture or Bridge/Photoshop. You will want to be able to get your best images collected for daily critiques.

Team Structure â€" Students will work in teams of 3 on location shoots â€" with each student rotating through the position of photographer, grip and model / assistant. If desired, students will be grouped by their brand of equipment so that they may combine flashes for multi-flash work.
