Storm Chasing

Storm Chasing
June, 2010 (dates TBA)

There is nothing grander, more exhilarating than weather! Join me for an intense week of photographing weather at its finest (read… nastiest) in Tornado Alley chasing tornados, super cells, lightning storms and more. We will have Brian, our own private, storm chase guide/meteorologist, with all the latest & greatest technology for finding weather at his fingertips and his expertise and passion as a storm chaser putting us in position for the best photo opportunities.

We begin and end our adventure in Oklahoma City. Where we go in between is up to Mother Nature. In 2008 we logged over 3000 miles in four states as we chased supercells along back roads and highways. In all we saw at least a dozen tornados, several lightning storms, some incredible supercells that broiled in fury above our heads and memmatis clouds that looked like popcorn scattered across the sky. Great new friendships were forged as we got to know each other over the miles. While chasing our guide will explain what he is seeing on the radar and what it may mean. He will explain where we are going and why based on the weather conditions. Our guide is in constant radio contact with other storm chasers covering a greater area through communication. During our time in transit and at mealtime we have the opportunity to cover any photographic questions and situations so that we are prepared for what the weather throws at us and can bring home outstanding images of our storm chasing adventure. I have to say that it was one of the most exciting adventures I have ever experienced.

The $2950.00 fee includes one week of storm chasing with an expert guide, transportation, lodging in various cities along the chase route and my instruction and expertise in photography.
