Your hosts will be Dr. Nathan Varley, a native of Yellowstone whose doctoral research on wolves and elk has illuminated fascinating aspects of ecology, and Linda Thurston, whose extensive experience with wolf research and conservation has been heralded as cutting-edge . Stay in the heart of wolf country, the famous Buffalo Ranch in Lamar Valley, among its herds of bison and elk. Extensive observation time takes place in the morning and evening, while snowshoe excursions follow in the afternoon. Accommodations will be rustic but comfortable private cabins. Gourmet meals are catered each day, and local experts will join the group.
