Discover the possibilities for striking imagery and storytelling in everyday life.
This course is a serious investigation into daily life, including the social, cultural and environmental aspects of everyday. Participants create pictures that connect to life, revealing how individuals “see†and react, ultimately changing the perspective and awareness of one’s surroundings.
From the moment eyes open in the morning to the moment one goes to bed, days are filled with thousands of visually stimulating and storytelling frames. With digital SLRs students learn to explore the seemingly mundane rituals of life to create new and interesting photographs. Participants learn that being open to, aware of, and prepared to make the photographs is just as important as the photographs themselves. Lectures and slideshows expose a wide variety of work, and participants engage in daily discussions, assignments, and critiques, heightening visual awareness and interpretation of daily life. A workshop beyond simply making pictures everyday, students leave this course with newfound creativity and fresh eyes.
