Wildlife and Nature Travel - Ecuador Mountains and Rainforests Extension

The most precious ecosystems

Ecuador Mountains and Rainforests Extension

the greatest variety of species to be seen in the world

Mar 07 - Mar 12 2010

Ecuador has an amazing status among all the countries of the world: it contains the highest number of vertebrate species per square kilometer. Due to the high diversity of different habitats within a small land area, and the year-round stable tropical climate, we find an unbelievable array of fantastic species in Ecuador. A large portion of all the birds, many mammals, and nearly one fifth of the reptile, amphibian and fish species are unique to this area. To encounter and to get to know this fascinating diversity is a dream for many wildlife lovers. Our goal is to visit and experience two of the most important and most interesting of the various habitats: the cloud forests of the high Andes and the impenetrable lowland rainforests of the Ecuadorian Amazon. By trekking through lush mountain trails, looking over steaming mountain forest canopies, driving among the Andean peaks, floating downriver in a traditional canoe of the Amazon, and hiking the canopy trail of the rainforests, we will maximize our chances to meet as many members of this incredible variety as we possibly can. A truly inspirational must for nature lovers and conservationists alike. Join us on this excursion into the world's highest density of animals!
