Composition - Balance

Good balance is simply the arrangement of shapes, colors, or areas of light and dark that complement one another so that the photograph looks well-balanced. This one is subjective to me but make s a lot of good sense at the same time. Take for example a person sitting on a bench. While the person is setting at one end of he bench you can frame them to the left or the right as you desire and get the off center look you might like and that the rule of thirds recommends. however if we do to include enough of the bench to see that the subject is on a bench the image will look strange.

So when you peep through the view finder and you set the shot up make sure your eye looks at the whole image and not just the subject. Is there enough in the frame to tell the story.
