Composition - Simplicity

Another common error in composition is not keeping it simple. OK lets look at it this way. You walk up on a image you would like to shoot. You frame it up, and click. Later you look at the image and it just doesn't scream at you like it did when you were there on the location.

This might be caused by the fact that you did not eliminate the distractions in the image. take the photo below for example The image is to busy, the shot of the boy on the bike is a distraction. While it paints a great image of a grandmother showing the kids how to ride it is just to busy.

Re-frame the image, or in this case edit in post production because I was to busy laughing at the sounds that he was making to make a good image. You can pull this out. Its still not an image to die for but the real subject jumps out at you.

Keep it simple. Until the next installment of composition rules...keep the shutter click'n!
