Join our five-day photography workshop in the gorgeous Rockies of Colorado with their vibrant fall Aspens and old ghost towns. People travel to this part of the country to take in the beautiful yellows of the trees against clear-blue skies and explore old log buildings of a bygone era.

There is a lot of wild land around here, and we will take you to different valleys that we love, including one with a huge Aspen grove carpeted with ferns in their copper fall foliage. There are backlit streams and rivers, mountains with vestiges of last year's snow falls, old wooden buildings, and plenty to whet your photographic eye.

Here and at the other locations, you'll be able to celebrate your passion for photography, hone your seeing and imaging skills, and learn about the magic of light to make wonderful photographs.

The Barefoot Contessa and Arnie have photographed a lot in this area and look forward to sharing it with you. We'll be based in Crested Butte, Colorado with its many, gaily-painted, historic buildings, wonderful restaurants, and cafÃ©s galore. This is a popular time of year when the Aspens and Cottonwoods are showing their prettiest colors, so it's best to book early! You can always cancel later.

We start out with some technical information before heading out for our first afternoon of photography. Our workshops include the following:

Â Â Â * Opening wine-and-pizza reception;

Â Â Â * Primer booklet to help you get started;

Â Â Â * Early-morning and late-afternoon shoots;

Â Â Â * Mid-day downloading of your images and processing with the latest version of Lightroom 2;

Â Â Â * Printing element with step-by-step instructions for printing straight from Lightroom 2;

Â Â Â * Lots of individual instruction in both the field and classroom;

Â Â Â * Critiques, both individual and group;

Â Â Â * Discussions on various aspects of photography, including digital workflow;

Â Â Â * Final group critique and show on last day;

Â Â Â * A large, archival Epson print to either take home with you or to be mailed to you; and

Â Â Â * Lots of fun and frivolity throughout!
